Adobe LightRoom has an human-being import function that allows you to edit the name of import photographys form your camera or your storage. You can edit the name by date, sequence or customized. And also you are able to import the photographys in deferent folder by date and add some keywords for all the imported photo.
In some case, you need to backup the photo in DNG format. LR enable you to back-up and convert the files during importing.
